Very neat little M15

Not a rare helmet but one in great condition with complete original features. Many of those pickelhaubes around but good ones are astonishingly quite difficult to come across.

All fittings are sprayed in metal grey and all match, including the removable spike. Great interior regiment marked.

The chinstrap presents an interesting feature: the buckles are different both in colour (one is painted in the same colour as the other parts of the helmet, the other one is not) and in size (one is clearly thiner than the other). The thin one also shows metal residue at its bottom edge when it was pressed.

Helmet shows very little signs of service.

Nicely stamped Imperial Eagle with clear and sharp features.much better quality than those fitted on many ersatz I have seen.

Yes, this could have happened (period repair). The chin strap of the filz helmet of the RJR254 that I have bought from Joe is showing three elements in german silver (non magnetic) and one in steel (magnetic, last pict), but all four painted in feldgrau. But the sewing is definitly all original and old.

Yes. Size is 56 and date is 1916.
