Hello,

Here's a very nice helmet that I acquired about a year ago from Amy. :-$ Thanks again Amy, I really love this helmet, and I appreciate you selling it to me! :D \:D/

I told Brian about it today, and mentioned that I needed to finally get it posted, so here goes!

I added the original chinstrap to it, and also the original set of kokardes.

The maker mark is hard to read, but I'm convinced it is "J.G. Lieb & Söhne — Biberach". This maker stamp is shown on Joe's list.
Biberach an der Riss, often referred to as simply Biberach, is a town in southern Germany. It is the capital of Biberach district, in the Upper Swabia region of the German state of Baden-Württemberg.

Best Regards,

Alan

Here's the maker mark from Joe's List. I'm convinced it's the same maker in my helmet.

That looks so familiar, oh yes it's my helmet 😍

I know you will take care of it well and good.

Looks excellent with the chinstrap and cockades.

Hey Alan, get a brass one and make it a pair, then add a silver R119 or R123. They will sure look very good.

Thanks Steve and Amy, I appreciate it! :thumb up:

Thanks again Amy, for selling me this fine helmet, I greatly appreciate it! :D

I found a silver one a couple of years ago, and tried to get a brass one this past weekend. Unfortunately I did not bid high enough for the brass one that I wanted.

Here's my silver one, for Pioneer Battalion 13, or for R119 or R123. There's a nice handwritten name inside that I hope Philippe can find some information on the soldier, and we will discover if he was a Pioneer, or in R119, or in R123. I have a Brass fittings chinstrap on it currently, so it is set up for being a Pioneer helmet.

Best Regards,

Alan

When I purchased this Wurttemburg silver trimmed helmet, the black tin support plate was outside on the helmet, placed under the spike base. I took the spike off, and moved the black support disk to the inside of the helmet.

Here are closer images of the handwritten name inside.

Best Regards,

Alan

It looks like the hand written name reads: "Scho_ _ agel". Could it be Schorwagel, is there such a name? I can clearly make out the "Scho" and the "agel", but there are two or three letters that my eyes cannot discern.

Moment of impulse prompt me to check that I still have some goodies after selling that nice wurttemberg to Alan.

Here's part of the ORs collection. Top 2 are silver marked to R119. 3 Brass ones with different or no marking and M15 with some or no markings. Another few more ORs couldn't come onto the shelf cos they are under the officer helmets .

Enjoy.

Great looking M15 Wurttemberg Alan, congratulations!
I used to own one, and still regret having to sell it, but one day I will own one again.

Beautiful helmet! :bravo:

Great helmets!
I sadly sold one years ago. One that was a local find, in Ghent...
But I wasn't collecting at taht time, and needed the money.
On my list now.
