Visit from China

Yesterday, I had a visit from members of our forum from China.
It was a very pleasant afternoon, and I was happy to show them my collection. I think it was worth the trip.

Can’t believe myself I’m only seeing this post now! A huge thank you to Reiner for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to visit this incredible collection, truly felt like a dream come true.
No matter how many reference books or photos one can gather, nothing can compare to the experience of seeing so many rare pieces in person. For me personally, putting together complete uniform mannequins has always been the ultimate collecting goal, and Reiner’s collection is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of this passion. An absolutely wonderful afternoon.

There was indeed a “souvenir” from this unforgettable visit. Reiner generously gifted me an original Reichswehr officers’ silver aiguillette for the Gesellschaftsrock, in very good condition. A meaningful addition to my collection. Thank you again Reiner for your kindness!

Whenever I see these photos, I always think about the blood and sweat it took to track all of that down—not to mention the time and distance involved in gathering and purchasing it all. A truly beautiful collection; I could spend hours feasting my eyes on it.
