Hello Coert,

In fact, the Weissenbürger-Cannstatt (Wurtemberg plate) are not considered to be Ersatz because they are of good quality and have been the subject of a Probe, received by A.K.O (High Staff) and have been the subject of an official contract with the German army. (like BING with the King of Bavaria).
Von der Heyden-Berlin made this same helmet, under license, but with the Prussian eagle.
The visor and neck guard are attached to the shell by a beaded edge; the leather cap is set into the crimp, and there are no seams.

The tip is crimped through the central hole, and the rivets are decorative. The side posts are secured by two fold-away half-moons, as on the M15 officers’ models.
The rear spine has no ventilation holes.
The mountings for the Prussian eagle or the Württemberg plaque always feature a wide horizontal bridge.(M14) or 3 holes (M15)

The liner (leather cap) fastens with a press stud rather or nothing at all.
The cockades are distinctive, with a raised rim around the central hole, similar to certain Saxon designs.
