wanna see some of my helmets ?

This beautiful IR 92 officer helmet is a very welcome argument as completion to following discussion we already had:

Spikers helmet is a perfect living and remaining exemple, showing the top of the skull not always absolutely has to follow the bottom of the bandeau under the word "FUERST". It can even also completely hide it.

Also very beautiful to see on this IR92 wappen pict: the black velvet "inlay" in the skull. It seems to be placed on a leather support. Fantastic!

I can't believe I didn't reply to this already... SUPER collection and GREAT helmets! Thanks for sharing and giving us a glimpse of the back of that wappen!

Again, your M1915 Prussian Garde-Infanterie Off. Pickelhaube and your Lachmann simply make me

(not that the rest don't but I'm trying to focus here!)

Whenever you find me a good Lachmann in the land of pickelhaubes--BELGIUM!--please don't hesitate to PM me... :thumb up:

Thanks Ron ,
I’ll keep that in mind about your Lachmann, coz next month is the Ciney show ! \:D/ (the Belgian SOS)

True! Lucky you... I think Francis is going too...

My immediate wish list is simple really :-" :
- M15 EM/OR Prussian Lachmann
- M15 EM/OR Prussian Felzeichen
- A couple of M15 leather chinstraps

Oh yes, pickelhaubes everywhere here in Belgium :D , and not just that, we are still driving around the tanks that the Germans left behind in WWII. 8-)

Wow! These snaps are a walk through a gallery of some of the most smokin' things ... A real collectors' accomplishment!

Didn’t have anything to do this afternoon, so I made this picture of my Jager zu Pferde trio.

In front ; the famous Kar 98 , originally made for cavalry, but soon issued to several other units.

Aaaaargh! =D>
Such photos make me drool Ed! =P~
Could you tell us more about that M15 JZP version in the middle with the painted brass chinscales? Wasn't this againt M15 regulations? Weren't these supposed to be replaced by the leather strap for the mannschaften at least?

(P.S. Awaiting more photos of your Lachmann  )

Great trio J z Pf Hauben indeed.

The leather dragoon/J z Pf helmet on the right: any units markings/stamps ?

Thank you,
Francis

Glad you like the picture Ron,

The black chinstrap is different than the one on a 1905 helmet with knob 91, which has a rim around the edge. It looks like the strap has always been with this helmet ,but it is indeed very seldom seen on a M 15.

The Leather helmet has no regimental stamps Francis , that type of helmet was indeed worn by Jager zu Pferde as well as dragoons.
