Wappen Attachment Weirdness?

I'm curious as to your thoughts and collective pickelhaube wisdom here, friends. This is a picture I was sent of the inside of a Dragoon officer helmet. While I have seen split pin attachments before, they have all had washers underneath the pins. The holes under the washers might be tighter then these are, but of course hard to tell when you can't remove the wappen (which I wouldn't, if it was attached with split pins). Does this look right/legit to you? Thanks!

Yes, these are the "0fficier" productions of mobilization and war. Often with zinc-plated steel washers, but here we can't see any traces of washers, so it's a good vintage assembly.

Thanks Clovis - super helpful, as always. : )
