Sie ist eine Biamte Pickelhaube aus Rheinland.
It's a civil official's helmet from the Rheinland. I bought one similar, near mint, in the case, from a Harley biker years ago.

This one is from wartime / pre-war Germany. Mine is from post WWI, no crown, septre or orb on the wappen. You'll notice also that the belt doesn't exactly match the helmet's crest on the eagle. Mine, being a post-war type, has the same crest as on the belt... an eagle over the rheinland 'river' rather than a crown. Or at least that's what I'm thinking... may be totally wrong?

Interesting, Robert. I wonder about that though, as I've never seen a fire helmet with a spike on it. Sure it's not customs or police?
