Waterloo helmet with cover

Better than this????
Full matching helmet and cover are very hard to find
Jackpot amy or as we say it without sound katsing katsjing

Beautiful helmet!
I also have a Wateloo one, but is has vaguely readable ink stampings on it, I still didn't find out which regiment but looks like IR77.
In the place where your markings are is on my helmet a paper label from the soldier, but not readable anymore. My markings are on the rear visor.

Very nice addition to your collection, :)

Greetings Coert :bravo:

This helmet has both markings JR 78 7C1 on both the interior and rear visor.

The helmet cover has matching markings as JR 78 7C1.the helmet also has the name tag of the soldier inside. Hubby got the helmet cover 40 years ago and the helmet last month. Then yesterday we were cleaning out some helmets from the bunker and found the matching cover.

The cover is still not in my possession yet as hubby wants to rip me off for something big knowing that I will want the helmet cover badly. He is thinking of a double decal African korp helmet. I don't think it's worth the swop. What do u guys think?

But an AKdouble decal is my only one and it's worth 2--3 grand. I got the helmet off him as a birthday gift and I will charm him to give the helmet cover to me as Xmas present. Hehe

Nice helmet! You really need to keep it and the cover together.
I have a DD M18 helmet taken from 'a big pile of helmets' in North Africa by a friend's father (1Lt. E Jensen), so it's an AK helmet. It's not tan, but green. Somebody in another forum offered that it might have come from a Panzer unit, but who knows. I do know it's an AK helmet.... just doesn't look like one!

Keep the Africa Korps helmet!!!!

I had a single decal M'35 that an Uncle had brought back from North Africa (it was green not tan) and years ago traded it for a Pickelhaube. BTW the AK helmet had been run over by a tank. I'm not sorry for the trade.

There really were two guys called TREBBE at the 7/78.

Bernhard TREBBE, lightly wounded 1914:

And Gerhard TREBBE, lightly wounded 1915:

And two others TREBBE were at the 3 and 5/78.

Do you know how difficult and almost impossible it is to find a helmet exactly matching with a Überzug? (same unit, same Kompanie and same number of Garnitur.....). I would not hesitate to make a deal with the AK helmet to get the matching Überzug and of course some money for the difference of value from your friend. But this is only my two cents, I do not like WWII helmets....I do not know how much is the value of a AK helmet, but I perfectly know the value of a rare WWI matching set....

Congrats Amy that is an awesome set with fantastic markings. Col. Joe we need to get these into our list of Regt Markings. I would say that your uberzug and helmet are far more rare than any AK helmet but just my opinion.

Philippe thanks for the info.

Thanks to all others with their comments I will think abt it I am an addict for Ww1 spikes and steel. Will seriously consider letting go of my ak helmet sob sob.

Hello

I would too not hésitate a second to gather the two items. It is very scarce to find so smatching Uberzug Pickelhaube. I try to collect such sets and I can confirm it is difficult to find such a smatching set. And generally prices are very very high... I will show this evening another waterloo set but less smatching than this one.

I am not into prices of DD AK helmets but i would find it very sad to have a spike helmet in one hand and the cover in the other hand and stil have to take those two apart , surtanly in this matter since they are full matching
They belong together ,they once were and still are
Hope for sure you can work something out on this one amy

# very nice helmet festwagner never had the chance to find them like this with the matching cover

Nice Waterloo helmet with its matching cover festwagner.

I like the rear marking too.

Looks like I have to get rid of my dd ak helmet.
