Weird spike and base

This one just came in on a total parts helmet, 75% of helmet was fake. I truly believe this spike and base to be modern made as well, just never seen anyone put this much work into a repo piece. Heavy brass, I mean heavy. Screw on spike to the base? Anyone seen this before?

Never seen anything like it before.. The holes in the spike itself are of no use too, since the base is solid..
So ventilation is out of the question.
To me it is a repro too. It looks well made though...

Even if it is a repo, I like it...! As a former tool and die worker, someone put some effort into that spike ....
