WASHINGTON, 14 ten (AFP) - The Pentagon announced on this Wednesday that a missing American soldier's mortal remains during Second World War in Alaska were identified.
Dee Hall, original of Syra (Oklahoma, south), died on board an airplane of the American Navy that fell in 14 June of 1942 with seven people on board in the island of Kiska (Alaska), then occupied for Japanese, informed the Department of the Defense.
In August of 1943, the United States retook the control of the island.
The carcass of the ship was found beside the volcano and the crew's remains, buried at a common sewage. After the war, however, the attempts to locate her went in vain.
In 2002, a biologist discovered the place of the wreckages. The area was reviewed in August of the following year and the remains of the seven members, recovered for identification in laboratory.
Dee Hall will be buried on this Thursday in San Antonio (Texas, south).
