What about this?

I do not own one of these, but I am curious about them. The nuts holding the Wappen have obviously been replaced and I believe that the Kokarden and chin scales are reproductions. The Feldzeichen is also an obvious replacement. Shouldn't this have only one Kokarde, the national one?

Any thoughts?

John :?

The field badge on the mortarboard is worn in lieu of the state cockade.
This may be a "parts" helmet.
Here is a good reference for Tschapka features:

Hi John,
I think the cockade is genuine. Chinscales look somewhat too massive for an officer Tschapka. Maybe it is an effect of the wide-angle lens. Plate attachment is of course wrong (modern nuts), although the plate looks like it is well fitted to the shell. These large washers may hide enlarged holes.
The Rabatte is of the enlisted type (or perhaps Unter-Offizier), therefore does not match this officer Tschapka.
