What do you think about this Grenadier helmet ?

Hello,
This single photo, of mediocre quality, shows that:
This should be an M60, but :

---The eagle is too big, it should be flush with the top edge of the visor, but here it clearly encroaches on it.
---The visor should be angular. Here it's rounded.
---The tip is not correct, and should have a simple Perlring troop. The cruciform base is not correct, there should be no border, for a troop helmet.
Even the Mappa's Swedish Pickelhaube M/1845 shows a compliant tip!

Other views should enable us to detect other anomalies.🤔

Yes, nonsense that's floating around the web. However, in the transition period between the 1860 and 1867 models, there was a bit of tinkering. This tinkering continues to this day, even by well-known dealers.

I agree with what has been written.
Below is a 1860 model revamped after 1867. It has, most likely, seen the Franco-Prussian war in 1870-71. The helmet has been rotated by 180 degrees. You can see under the eagle the stitching that used to be hidden by the rear spine. The holes whereby the former cruciform spike basis was affixed have been patched, same for the holes for the former eagle, now at the back of the helmet. An original helmet that has not been cleaned, let alone polished, for a long time.L1030331 (2016_06_09 15_02_06 UTC).JPGL1030334 (2016_06_09 15_02_06 UTC).JPGL1030326 (2016_06_09 15_02_06 UTC).JPGL1030327 (2016_06_09 15_02_06 UTC).JPGL1030333 (2016_06_09 15_02_06 UTC).JPG
