What do you think of that Prussian Pionieroffizier Pickelhaube ?

Dear members of the forum,

I just come across this Prussian Pionier Offizier Pickelhaube, I must say it is probably one of my favorite pickelhaube.
According to my limited knowledge, it looks good and untouched.
I would love to read the opinions of much more knowledgeable collectors before purchasing it.
I have asked for more pictures.

Now that I look again at the pictures, I realized the inside spike support disk is missing....a fain trace is still visible..
Would you say the spike has been modified ?

Hello Meme,
the disc was not mandatory for officer helmets, only for enlisted men helmets. The helmet looks ok for me

Looks good to me.
As a bonus the shell looks to be made of fiber.
Not rare but less often found than ones made of leather.
Great find !

As stated above, the helmet looks totally fine. However, I have never seen that brass makers plate before. I am wondering how that is secured to the shell?

Thanks for your quick feedbacks. I have purchased it, it is coming from Germany. As soon as I get it, I will post more pictures of this helmet. I always loved the mix of gold and silver on these Pionier Pickelhauben.

I have received it today, the helmet is marked Germania inside.

It is indeed made of fiber and not leather.

This is one great looking Pioneer haube! You did well in buying it.
I only have 2 pioneer hauben, an enlisted mans one, and a reserve officer one, made by Awes.
