What do you think of this one?

This one caught my eye, but the statement he makes about the possibility of the visor trim being replaced I find a little disconcerting.

www.ebay.com/itm/Wurttemberg-Reservist-Infantry-Officers-Model-1897-Pickelhaube/173411278912?hash=item28601e2040%3Ag%3ATksAAOSwgPdbSkuH&LH_PrefLoc=2&_sacat=13956&_nkw=pickelhaube&LH_ItemCondition=4&_from=R40&rt=nc

It all looks good and the visor trim does not appear any brighter in the photos. Take a look at the studs holding the visor trim on and let me know your opinions, please.

That's what I thought. These are taller than any on the helmets I own, but that does not mean that they aren't authentic.
Does anyone have an original helmet with these taller visor trim studs?

I don't see any problems here...the leather visor has shrunk thus you see the original lines where the trim used to fit when new. This is a common sight. Regarding the trim brads, again I think they are fine...colour and patina match. They are just of a "different manufacture" than most others and again we encounter many such differences.

In the description the seller hints an eventually replacement of the visor trim. Maybe that could explain the tall rivet heads.

The seller does mention that the visor trim may have been replaced and that is my concern.
A period replacement is okay with me, but a new replacement, especially with copper, concerns me --- a lot!

I would be with Brian and think this probably replacement would have been done in period time. I think a new replacement would consider the shrunken leather for a better look of the helmet and the seller would not point it out if he would have done it by himself.

Looks to me that the front spike star maybe a replacement. But from what I see I won't object to having this one.
