Does any one know what this uniform is? It is an officer's cotton khaki. All piping (around collar and cuffs and down the front fly) is dark green as well as the backing on the shoulder boards and collar lace. Shoulder boards are silver with a green trace thread and a #1. Buttons are silver. I can not find any unit whose uniform would be green trimmed, have collar lace, silver buttons, and the number 1.
It looks like a WW2 Major's uniform.
Not sure about the piping though.
With the absence of the eagle over the right pocket I would think Reichswehr 1920's/30's.
Just my opinion.
My thoughts on this, is that it may be a veteran's from the 30s. Buttons are all smooth German Silver, not the dippled finish of the later period. Here is a better shot of the boards.
