At least the seller is honest about it and not trying to fool some to think it's a seebatallion rarity!
 
Isn't red an Field Artillery piping? Other than that, I can say it's made of fabric.... (can you tell I know next to zip about these!?? )

Actually, Ron, that was a tricky post :)

Since I had questions about an almost similar visor cap of mine (see HERE) that no one gave me answers to, I thought I'd get some with this one...

And by the way, Infantry Schirmmützen had red piping too; what actually distinguished Artillery from Infantry visor caps was the central BAND--for the M1910 and M1915 at least--which was black for the former and red for the latter.

You are thinking of perhaps Third Reich era caps, when red was the waffenfarbe for artillery.
In the Imperial era, artillery caps did indeed have red piping, as did infantry, and many cavalry regiments, but it was mainly identified by the black band on mutzen & schirmmutzen, and black collars,and cuffs on tunics. The black was used by pioniers ( engineers) as well, among others.
