WHICH OF YOU GENTS DOES HAVE THE TALLEST?!!!

This is not my latest one but I found it last summer. Officer helmet, worn in the Garde-Füsilier Regiment (Berlin) or in the 5th Foot Guard Regiment (Spandau)... or maybe also Garde Pionier? Liner and inside of the helmet/visors are indicating this is a medium quality helmet. (wearer was surely not very wealthy). Silver fittings are all showing a neat homogeneous patina.
Maybe some of you gents can help me to determinate the wearer (rank list). This would be great! He left his name (ink written) on the back visor and also a date: F. KRÜGER 1.4.13. There also is another (older) pencil handwritten date at the inside of the skull, behind the plate: 21/6.12
It´s the tallest by far in my small spiky collection, spike measuring 14 cm / 5,51 inch. (from the upper surface of spike base to spike top).
But I´m sure, some of you guys are owning some taller helmets! Come on, please post some picts of your tallest!!

Philippe :salute:

That's a beautiful helmet! Congrats and yes, very nice spike indeed. :)

Here's my tallest:

Have never measured the spike though and it's in a display case that isn't easy to open, so I'll bow to yours. :salute: :notworthy: :occasion5:

We actually have already had a discussion and fotos of these tall fashion spikes as I call them. Have to locate the thread though. Great helmets guys!

Some saxons were not satisfied with pointy spikes alone but preferred to display extra-large stars es well..

Can't get enough of your IR92 haube and that awesome skull Tony! What model is it (M1897?) and where can we see more of it? (I only found its NCO Private Purchase counterpart on KB)

Hey Robert, they even 'stretched' the pearl ring! How crazy is that? I really like it. :)

Yup Tony, a truly beautiful helmet, much better than a Ford Focus.

I love the stretched pearl rings! very very unique. I see them from time to time. cool little oddity and of course the extended or stretched spikes are equally as cool.

Thanks Tony!
So what year/model is it? You mention in the thread that it's wartime production but with the absence of the 3 rivets on the chinscales, does this mean M1897?
