Windows 7

Windows 7 sucks. I am just about ready to go out and buy a Macintosh. This is not an upgrade it does not work quite like that.

Regularly in an upgrade you put in the disc and watch your operating system improve. For window seven you must carefully back everything up on external hard disks and then the window seven erases everything on your disk and puts a significantly different operating system in its place. All of the programs you are used to using have to be reinstalled from their own original installation disks. Then you get to restore your backups. While this was time-consuming it had some advantages and Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 works better on Windows 7. However, the real shock hit when I discovered that my pretty new Hewlett-Packard all-in-one printer scanner fax machine was incompatible with Windows seven! None of the compatibility checks turned up this issue but when I dug into it Hewlett-Packard was quick to admit their problem and promised to fix it sometime hopefully as early as late January 2010.

So no printing and no scanning until I do something. The extra bad news is that you cannot go back to XP. It's time for a beer. :-x :-x

Well I guess I got moderated. I didn't think the thing on the universe was offensive.... oh well. Having failed all the workarounds I broke down and bought a Macintosh last night and joined the rest of my family. This is going to be expensive as I have to buy Dreamweaver but the amazing thing is that the only cable I had to connect was the power cord. That's it. Let us pray that this works.

HeyApple has been saying all along, that if you have to start over from scratch, you just as well switch to an apple, I think I am still using windows II

Clearly I am still learning. This is going to be expensive. I think I might figure out how to use this thing by SOS -- maybe. One really good thing so far is that the voice recognition software seems to be far better than the reviews. Maybe I am just getting soft in my old age.

Thanks for that review Joe ,I have a new HP all in one printer ,and is a reason for me to avoid updating my system.
