I was simply laughing and amusing myself with all your reactions here. Thanks! Indeed Gus, alas the battalion numbers are not visible. Alas it is a digital copy, George, I have no idea where this photo has been made. These Chasseurs fought also on other front sectors than in the Vosges like the Somme, Verdun, etc., and some even on the Italian front.

I think it is a nice counter point (no pun intended) to the Pickelhaube, to remind us that there are two sides to every story.
