This is Randy Trawnik from Age of Kings. I have collected since 1964 but still am learning about the finest points of the hobby. The helmet is question came from Father Murphy, an old friend in California. He obtained it from the famous Norn Hobson collection following Norms untimely demise. If is is a repro....it is an early one. We always stand behind our items. I will be happy to trade you one from me personal collection. I promise you mine is genuine with great balls. Please PM me and I will send you the photo of my helmet.

Randy, you and Remy have helped me out with many specialty requests, mostly the reproduction chinscales for my pre-1915 JzP metalhelm. I have other items I will need but will email you those separately. I can personally vouch for you and for Brian, and some others on this website, as most of us are trying to learn from the subject matter experts like yourself.

You, Brian, and the dedicated others are much appreciated for your expertise and for sharing with those of us who yearn to learn.

We need pictures of the sides. It is impossible to tell without, from these few pictures. Although it looks much better than the one that was withdrawn, without comparing the "fish scales" on the sides it is too much a risk. The liner is very well done, and the plate has the proper backing piece missing from the above replicas.
However this replica from spikehelmets.pl shows that the plates are very similar. This replica looks very good in all aspects (balls are rounded, backing cloth behind the plate, etc) until you see the sides. Visit the website to see all of the mitre helmets.
I would not even think about it without side pictures.
