wool busby?

Isn't it odd to see woven (wool?) cloth showing where the hair has rubbed off on a busby?

Maybe it's odd, but they do exist. Doesn't have to be fakey fakey at all...
Here's another one...

What a beauty you got there Karel! I see it's even named =P~

Would this qualify as an M1895 Officer Ersatz Hussaren busby?

Absolutely Fantastic Helmet Karel!

I think there is a miscommunication somewhere...

Yes there are ersatz busbies that like yours were made completely out of wool, but I am specifically reffering to the one that was in the first post.

If you look closely the busby has no busby cord loops on the top that the busby lines would go through. No cords should indicate that there is something wrong.

The other indication is that the liner headband is made of what looks to be a tarpaper material. I have never seen an Imperial German busby with that type of liner construction from issued, private purchase or ersatz examples.

Your busby shows the standard leather, (or what i call glove leather) headband/liner construction found on Officer's and private purchase busbies.

On the sealskin helmets that I have seen when the fur is lost what remains has a leather not wool look and feel.
