Would you believe this helmet with the extra holes and no pearl ring ?

In 14/18 ,It was a gift to a local from the owner himself and the helmet is now part of the Memorial Museum Passchendaele .


Would you believe these numbers if these covers were for sale on e-bay ?

This is a pleasant response to some arrogant "experts", Spiker. Well done.
But please note, regarding the top picture, that the same helmet (minus the double holes...) is presented in Hilsenbeck's book on Wurtemberg headdresses (p 48): stars, no Perlring...

Now back on the pearling here is mine. I have no doubt that it is original, no double holes, came out as a very well-respected collection, no pearling. This also has a private purchase 13 cm high spike. My only thought was Fähnrich. OYV????

I've noticed deformed (bowed out) visors, but never a squooshed top of the dome as in that Bavarian. Interesting thread indeed. Thanks for posting!
Joe, that helmet is a total fake, so you'd better sell it to me. ;) Never mind, I couldn't afford such a fine piece right now. Love the spike!

Would you believe a Hessian with a Prussian helmet ? :)
The Helmet on the left is probably also a Prussian helmet but with Hessian wappen as it has the shiny brass spike.
