Hey Guys I hate to do this but I am getting close to retirement and I need a little money before I get my first check.
This is a great looking rare Wurt tin ersatz helmet.
I think this would be called a kit helmet.
The Wurttemberg troops were issued the parts and expected to put it together.
I read that on this forum !
ALL ORIGINAL PARTS.
The cocardes show their age but are original.
Pristine original C/S !
The only issue with this helmet are the antlers have been lost to time but have been replaced with brass from the period.
Hardly noticeable.
Liner is in great shape and shows use.
Very small dings towards the back of the helmet.
Helmet Weitze has this same type of helmet on his web page and his is rough and missing the antlers .
Weitz is selling his for $1671
I am asking $1,000 for mine with about $25 shipping.
If you are interested please pay with paypal with family or friends.
Matthew

Hello,
1914 model helmet by Weissenburger, manufactured in Stuttgart-Cannstatt. This helmet is not an Ersatz model because it was covered by a patent and was the subject of a contract with the German Army (similar to the Bing helmet for Bavaria).
Your helmet is in excellent condition. All the details are in good shape (I’ve already posted about this somewhere on this forum). Only the cockades are not from this helmet (although they are period pieces). The beige leather trim (liner) is set into the hull's edge piping and fastens with a snap fastener exclusive to this model.
Here are the Weissenburg cockades. They have a shoulder ring, just like the Saxon ones.
It's just a minor detail.

Lovely helmet, sorry you have to let it go but a rarity like this should move fast at that price. Here in the UK other more common States go for more than you are asking.
Best of luck.
