Württemberg ammunition pouches

I was recently sent the following in an email by Anthony Meldahl, author, collector and aficionado of all things Feldgrau. Anthony has kindly given me permission to post the information here, for the benefit of anyone so interested:

The 'Württemberg pouch' for want of a better term was a larger than normal, single-section, ammunition pouch, similar in size and appearance to those issued to medics.

These pouches are particular to Württemberg and were patented and manufactured in Württemberg by a local firm, Nördlinger & Pullock, Stuttgart. The pouches have accordion-style, nickle-plated tin metal slots inside, capable of holding 12 clips of ammunition.

A number of original examples were examined including fifteen originating from a collector who originally purchased them from a Hollywood costume shop in California (in 1986). All were stamped with Württemberg regiments of the XIII A.K.

Excellent presentation! It would be nice to find the regulations for this pattern. There were a number of things that were particular to Wuerttemberg and up until this point, I have not seen anything like the Wuerttemberg equivalent of the Prussian AKOs. I assume they would be Kriegs=Ministerium orders.
