I am offering a Württemberg Tschako for sale. While it's not in perfect condition, it's still a solid piece for any collection, and I am offering it at a very reasonable price.

It was identified as a reproduction.

I think you're new to collecting German imperial headdresses. Youth’ error.
I am very sorry to have to tell you that your Tshako is a complete reproduction, albeit of fine quality.
The stitching doesn't fit, the inner cap is chiselled out, the outer leather looks about right, but the inner guilloche doesn't fit.
The plate is a dig plate, with accidents, and the condition does not match that of the Shako.
Truly sorry to say that.

Yes, at first I thought it was genuine, just by clicking on the little photos... But then, before I made up my mind, I zoomed in all the same... and there appeared the details that can't be mistaken. Hence my information to Serge. As I said, it's still a fine Shako for someone who does historical re-enactment.

It is indeed very good for reenactment, Good Reproduction Pickelhauben/Shakos are very hard to find, so I'd say that it is really a shame its fake, however its made useful for an entirely different purpose.
