I think you may have something there, looks like someone made the strap out of a gun sling, that is really well done.

Are there any other markings on the lance?

Can you add a photo of the brown Bess thanks bob
Hi bob
I have a few photos yes 👍 the butt is stamped 1806 , so a pre 1809 when after they used the ring neck cock .

Thank you,
-what is the total weight?
The little book is not mentioning the "two-part lance".
The booklet (page 33) shows a table with all twelve Modelle/patterns: all in one piece: Stahlrohr/tube.
-Interesting-
-In order to prevent the lance humming: from 1893 on: a rolled piece of blotting paper (35 gram) was inserted in the bottom end.
-On the rolled up lance pennants: there is no written proof that this was done to create a "stopper"; thus preventing the lance to penetrate too deep into the target; often forcing the rider to let go of his lance.

Shouldn't the lance pennant for 1LH be black with a white skull? (black skull on white being for 2LH)?
I agree with you . The stampings are for 1 L H R 1
the lance flag is the color combo for 2 L H R 2
I know nothing about the lance
but I do not have a good feeling about the flag
I don't like it
It is also stamped for 1 L H R 1 which is not correct
I hope that Tony S. will comment on this
I know that he has a correct lance flag

The lance looks quite convincing, but,
I agree with steve on the pennant, and for the lance itself:

I looked it up in two reference works:
die feldgraue Uniformierung (Kraus) and the german cavalry (verlag militaria, in both there is no mention of a two parts lance,
If I was the owner of that lance I really would like a reference to the existence of such an item.

so seems to good to be true...

Since I've had no reply to the request of additional markings on the lance, I'm assuming there are none.

As mentioned, it should be one piece

I wouldn't touch it or the Pennant after a closer look at the sewn holes for attachment.

Coolest thing is how someone made the wrist strap, that is well done. (y)
