WW1 ORIGINAL M1915 PRUSSIAN PICKELHAUBE SPIKE HELMET
Black lacquered leather body with grey metal fittings including removable spike, side posts, rear spike and Prussian heraldic eagle.
Prussian heraldic eagle is secured to the helmet body by leather wedges through the reinforced grey metal eyelets. No extra holes behind the wappen. There was period patch up as shown in the photos but the front picture shows that there are no extra holes behind the wappen.
Helmet has good form and firm stitching. No size marking.
The liner is of that black leather with rounded "tongues" perforated at the ends for a leather string to adjust the fit. Leather liner is in very good condition with supple leather.
Comes together with original set of Reich and State cockade and an original chinstrap which is hard to come by nowadays.
