I am far from an expert on Telegraph straps.Steve,
Can you give me some information regarding the feldgrau dress wear by my Flag bearer? Does he wear the uniform wear at the beginning of the War (his shoulder straps looks feldgrau to me)?
RichardYes.
Is it possible for you to date approx. this photo?
Richard
Here is another good one
Then it can only be TB No.6. Munster, where the photographer was based, is near Hannover. Königsberg is many hundreds of kilometers away. This regimental standard has only the 1900 Banderole without the clasps, best I can tell, so according to my reference that would make it TB Nr5, Königsberg (1913) or TB Nr6, Hannover (1914)
Thanks for this info Steve.I am far from an expert on Telegraph straps.
Mike Kelso is the member to ask.
I know they were red early with the lighting bolts
later they had a gray strap with a " T "
Steve
Nice visual complement information. In my collection a couple of Telegraph straps
the T 2 is a true Feldgrau
T 7 is the regular gray color

Thanks again Steve for your comment/information.Richard
Here is the information on the Telegraph units.
T B 1 ; 2 & 3 were formed in 1899
All 3 of them would on the flagpole have 1900 Banderole with clasps that have the dates on them.
T B 4 1908
T B 5 1913
T B 6 1914
since they were formed after 1.Jan.1900
they would not have the 1900 Banderole with the clasps
All 6 flags were taken to Russia after WWII
Steve
Very good information and deduction! Thanks! Then it can only be TB No.6. Munster, where the photographer was based, is near Hannover. Königsberg is many hundreds of kilometers away.
I think that all but one of the Telegraph flags were the same except for oneThanks again Steve for your comment/information.
Can you provide some images to show the difference between the two types of flags?
Hello Steve,I think that all but one of the Telegraph flags were the same except for one
All like the one in your photo, except for the 1900 Banderole streamer.
Here are some of the 1900 Banderoles in my collection.

Superbe! Can you tell me where these flags are displayed?I R 92 and H R 17
Some years ago, a collector friend of mine
was there and took these photos and sent them to me
I wanted to show them before I filed them away.
The H R 17 flag has an 1813 Iron Cross pole top
Very rare
