A very somber find from the Western Front. Hopefully the German authorities can locate family. I am sure there will be an official internment.

KILLIANSTOLLEN, Carspach, Alsace Sundgau. Via a well informed Dutch friend I received this link to a French website with some more PHOTOS of the excavation of the Killian- bunker, where the relics were found of 21 German soldiers on 29 October 2011.

About the man, to whom the dug-out has been named, some of my own info:
The Killian dug-out was named after Leutnant Killian of “Minenwerfer Abteilung No.6”. This unit of 46 Pioniere soldiers, under command of Leutnant Killian and Leutnant Türk, possessed at first 4 heavy 17 cm. mortars. See also my photo report about the Hirzstein, Vosges: http://pierreswesternfront" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.punt.nl/?id=534577&r=1 .

Lt. Killian also installed the "Minenwerferstrasse"at the Hartmannswillerkopf, Vosges, see my photo report about the Hartmannswillerkopf, http://pierreswesternfront" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.punt.nl/?id=415960&r=1&tbl_archief& .
