Young NCO

He is a Bavarian corporal and appears to be a one year volunteer. He has a mounted troops faustriemen on his sword. I think he is from the 1st Schweres Reiter Regiment

appears to be an einjährig-freiwilliger Gefreiter in the 1. Schwere-Reiter-Regiment. Strictly speaking a Gefreiter was not a non-commissioned officer as the holders of that rank belonged to the rank class of “Mannschaften” or other ranks. A more serviceable Translation would be a senior private.

The edges of the shoulder straps should be striped on a "one-year volunteer", right? May be I’m wrong, but the edges just look white to me…
 
The Bavarian light blue would appear very light in the monochrome photo. If you look close there do appear to be some faint stripes, but you would not get much contrast between the white and light blue
