Congratulation ! A nice and rare wartime original Tschapka. As having no detachable mortarboard, it could have been very easily also
an officers Ersatz helmet (in the field also wearing chinstraps on M91-.posts). A great find !
 
Have a look...

In my own expeirence I have only seen this type of wappen twice for sale. There are ones that come close, possible from a tschako but this tin tschapka eagle is slightly different....

You mean like this one on the left? Where the chest feathers appear to meet in the center, like fingers, touching? Center eagle has overlapping chest feathers, right one is the ‘clipped beak’ pattern.

I don’t know Adam. However, yes, the one I have in the photo is curved as you would expect for a Tschako. I have seen this pattern with touching breast feathers both curved (Tschako) and convex (Tschapka).
 
Here is the one I owned about 8 years ago...
