Questions about a Prussian officer parade tunic

Dear members,

I am looking for adding into my collection my first imperial German pre war tunic.
I found that tunic below for sale.
It looks all good to me and it is in perfect condition. The shoulder loops are for active officer and not retired officer.

The light blue piped Brandeburg cuffs identifying X /XIII / XV / XVII / XX AK.
The tunic being Prussian, I think we can remove the XIII AK ( Württenberg) ?

I am a bit confused concerning the way to display the Epaulettes or/and the Achselstücke ( shoulder boards).
I understand that the soulder boards can be slipped under the shoulder loop thanks to the tongue attached to the cloth base and then closed by a metallic button

Concerning the Epaulettes; I can not figure out how to display them on that tunic since there are no metallic buttons on the shoulders.....

Did German officers have a specific tunic for Epaulettes ?

Many thanks

Kind regards

For this one, I think there maybe never was a pair of epaulettes or shoulder boards attached. I have a tunic with a similar problem, with no holes or buttons on the shoulder. And no signs of buttons ever being sewn on.

Typically on epaulettes the button is permanently mounted on the epaulette, which actually secures to the shoulder with a small hook going through a threaded loop sewn near the collar of the uniform. Similar to the hook and eye to close the collar. However, there seems to be no sign of a small threaded loop either?

That is a BEAUTIFUL frosty Waffenrock. Perfect.C246721F-617C-4994-9BE5-F0D940DE818A.jpeg

Thanks a lot for your replies !
Yes JVPI it is exactly the same situation....no button and also no threaded loop sewn near the collar...

At least, your comments confirm it looks all good and original but no chance to attach some Epaulettes to it...
This tunic was maybe never issued ?

Thanks a lot

I think the officer had it tailored, but maybe he did not or didn't get a chance ever to pick it up from the tailor shop.
Or perhaps that's just a spare tunic kept in his closet.

Thanks Jvpi....
I really like dit but I feel frustrated not being able to display it with some Epaulettes...finding a nice Officer Waffenrock is not that easy.....I am looking for weeks with no budget limit but I did not find anything !

I think that the epaulettes would go under the bridles and stay in place for display

Steve,
Yes, it is the one belonged to Crown Prince Wilhelm.
Have you found a photo of him wearing it ?
I think that would be a rare photo
It is difficult to find a photo of him wearing
the Waffenrock of Grenadier Regt 1

He always had a very high collar as with your See-Batl Waffenrock .
A collector friend of mine at one time owned his K R 2 Kollar
That’s very nice! Do you know where his attila and other Leib-Husaren Rgt related items are? I don’t think I have seen these in private collections.
He wear the hussar uniforms more often.

I don't know where the K R 2 went
I have photos of the old collection some where
I looked for them the other day with no luck
they are still here and I will find them
I don't know of his 1 L H R 1 being sold or in a private collection
I did own his 1 L H R 1 dress hat a few years ago
I pay a lot for it and I sold it to a collector friend for just what I paid for it
It was traced back into the 1930's when the Crown Prince gave it to someone as a gift
there was a letter from the fellow who wrote all mail for the C P telling the new
owner that the CP sends this as gift
here are the photos

I forgot years ago the same collector owned the Opossum fur Husaren of the Crown Prince Wilhelm for 1 L H R 1
somewhere I have the photos
when he sold it , I was offered it
but he also offered the Kettle drum cover for K R 4
I could not afford both at the same time so I bought the K R 4 kettle drum cover
as I liked it better
