Help with Tschapka

Hello I found this forum after I recently stumbled upon a Tschapka in an antique store. I want to add it to my collection but I have some doubts about its originality since the liner doesn't have squared lips and also the color of the wappen seems odd.(maybe a chemically dulled version?). I am new to this area of collecting so I hope you can enlighten me!

I agree, a no go. Tschapka's have a scalloped rear visor profile, not straight like this one. Not really a visor, more the shape of the helmet itself.
To me it looks like a normal pickelhaube without the rear visor. There are more things wrong with it though..

Correct,
-the back of the Tschapka shells are cut after the shape of the skull.
-the visor is not attached like Tschapka visors are to be.

Yes the rear also caught my eye. I wonder if someone purposefully cut the back of a normal pickelhaube and made other modifications to make it look like a Tschapka.
