Any fellow members here who enjoy a good Bier ?

Hi Guys & Gals,

Enjoying my Bier Advent Calendar and yesterday was the second Bier and I felt it was an appropriate Bier to mention here. It was HusarenTrunk brewed by Schlossbrau Rheder.

I little info on the Bier.

In 1851 the 8th Hussars moved into the garrison in Paderborn and Neuhaus. Their captain and brewery owner Adolph von Spiegel is the namesake of their export beer.

I enjoyed the Bier and would recommend it to bottom fermented Bier fans. The can speaks for itself pretty cool IMO. Regards John Josef

Call me "old", but I stick with...the "old" Duvel...! Wich is hard to get here in central France....

In summer: a good Duvel! Autumn en winter I prefer the dark-strong Trappists. Rochefort 10 and the Chimay Bleue.

I was in Lancaster County in Gordonville when I went to HACC as a younger man post Military. Unfortunately, I didn't know about this Beerhall. Although retrospectively, I would have been a much poorer college student had I known. Those are great beers at an incredible price. Cheers.

God, I love that I have a Keezer. These guys are being returned and we are going back to the standard Ayinger Bräuweisse.

Apart from headgear; I'm a lover/collector of Belgian Trappist beers. You say...how can you "collect" beers? My oldest bottle is a 2005 Chimay Bleue Grande Reserve. 75 Cl. Corked.
-Next year I intend to open this one. Two chances: the yeast is dead....😖...or the beer is the best you ever had in the world...🤩
-patience. And tasting: not drinking.
The difference between a Trappist from the shop and one you open and taste after one year....
-Next to the tasting I fancy drinking the other BELGIAN beers. 😎

Magnificent! By far my favorites as well - and very hard to find in my backward part of the US, with it's weird liquor laws. (Especially fond of Westmalle Dubbel and Orval). 😺

-My Belgian 2nd Lancer is guarding the library and the Beer Bunker....

I really doubt these Trappist beers survive a flight across "The Pond". The beer yeast is alive. No shaking; no abrupt temperature changes...
-not talking about Shipping cost...😬
