Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

Thanks friends for your positive comments.
I must say that I am happy to have had the opportunity to add an ersatz of this famous artillery regiment to my collection.
It is not very common to find and when I saw it I did not think much about it.

The helmet is wonderful, but well done on your photography! Excellent! That’s as good as it gets for a helmet photo. That’s the quality of helmet photos I have been trying to maintain. You have arrived as well!

It is obvious that the original attachments have broken and a crude repair has been made with a metal wire.

Zeb

I'm sorry but I just can't make that statement from the single picture posted, IMO nothing is obvious.

If someone had pictures of the inside of the Helmet showing the created holes for the wire and the broken loops on the Wappen I'd say it's, one of many possibilities to explain the wire attachment.

We really have to be honest anyone could have taken a Saxon Wappen and attached it with wire over the past 110 years for many different reasons.

I'll admit I've seen way too many "collectors" and "dealers" creating items to take things at face value without doing a little detective work. ;)
