Could anybody give advice on this Uhlan? What would the value be?

I would not buy a metal Uhlan. Chinstrap and cockades appear fake the other cockade looks like a cat has played with it. And I suspect the metal part is new and tiny. Rob

Can someone please clarify the metal tschapka differences? I thought the ersatz versions could have straight edges with trim like this one with grey wappen dated 1917, I've seen several over the years just like it. This one just looks repainted with wrong parts etc. but they always seem to have replacement parts.

I prefer the traditional looking metal version with curved edge and gold wappen as pictured above but I always thought they were pre war not ersatz?

For an all metal uhlan should the board be removable as well ?
It was not unscrewed, it was permanently attached.I recreated this tschapka according to the original.A piece of leather was attached to the brass whiskers, filling out the whole thing and providing a structure for the rest to attach to.
