Please explain
I don't understand silver / zinc ?
all Grenadiers that I know are either gilt/ brass color
or later Feldgrau
Do you Prussian Garde in silver ?
Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the message.

The M15 is in zinc/silver trim, would the Grenadier front plate be in fieldgrey in this case?

I also require a spike, would this be in zinc/silver too?

I think that a photo would help
These are the only 2 Grenadier front plates that I know of
for regiments other than G R 1 ; G R 4 ; G R 7 and G R 9
I think that the Feldgrau plate may be a Garde plate without the star ?
but the color would be the same

Thanks Steve,

I’m not too familiar with Grenadier plates so this is all good knowledge thanks.

I was wanting to put one on this helmet.

Hello,
your helmet is an M15 steel helmet painted anthracite grey. You should look inside, under the neck cover, to see if there are any regimental markings, and a B.A. marking, in this case KBAG.
Grenadier M15 helmets were, for reasons of scarcity, fitted with the simple eagle of the line.
The M15 helmets of the Prussian Guard, on the other hand, showed the Adler-Guard with or without the Stern-Guard. Iron-grey Adler-Guards are rare in spare parts. Grenadier Eagles are almost non-existent in M15. Only a few are known to exist in collectionsM15 GrR Madjek.jpg

And here's a Gardist, a little more common.

I would delete the word silver when you ask about a plate for this helmet
I would use the term Feldgrau plate
I agree with both coert and clovis
look for issue stamps inside the helmet

This M15 has the shadow of a Prussian wappen on it. A regular one, so I do not know if a fieldgrey grenadier wappen would fit the mounting holes for it.

There is a slight shadow of what appears to be the Grenadier eagle plate wing, which is why I was asking about the plate. Not as viable in the photo as it is in person.

That was the place to start. The regimental mark gives the formal answer. :)
Here, then, it will be easy to find a grey-iron Prussian eagle of the line infantry model 15 (the most common of all the plates).
On the other hand, a removable M15 ball is difficult to find as a spare part. 80bz.jpgFAR M15 Feutre.jpg

I agree with the things Thierry wrote, a regular Prussian Line M15 wappen isn't that difficult to find, the removable artillerie ball is more rare. These do show up on ebay sometimes, then again not very often. You have to be quick when you see one for sale..
Then again, I visit ebay everyday, so I will keep an eye out for you @Pickels14 .

Thanks for that Coert, that will be a big help. Please do let me know if you come across one or selling one.

I will, at the end of this month there's a large militaria show here, which I will visit, if I find one, I'll let you know. If I see one on ebay too.
