A very common enlisted wartime helmet, and just the way I like them! The oval makers stamping inside rear dome area is CARL SCHNIEDER, BRIEG and is dated 1915. The grommets/holes for wappen placement have not been altered and there are no extra holes. Both leather wedges are in place. I chose not to undo the original leather lace to flip the liner over for those pictures. On the underside of the rear neck guard/visor is stamped J.R. 156 1916 III. B. and size stamped 54. It has good form and tight stitching. The original chinstrap was fully extended when I received it, so I adjusted it a bit to rest on top of the front visor.
