Thank you very much Kyle! Sorry for the delayed response - was out of the office for a few days. We have an Imperial Navy dress frock coming up, nicely named to Leutnant Krieger. It came with a bunch of (fairly dated, just going by the old tear-edge dot matrix printouts) research that echoes...
Hello gang - I have an item that has come in which requires a resource that I do not have at AGM. If anyone has access to the Imperial Navy rank list, I am looking to see just how many officers of wartime Leutnant zur See rank named "Krieger" there might be. If there is only one, we're golden...
Steve - if you or anyone else needs a copy of that SOS 2022 program, I picked up a few surplus boxes at the end of the show and have them available. If anyone wants one, (FREE) just send me a note via PM, or email directly [email protected]

More annoying is the fact that after this gentleman passed, the collection was kept for several decades in a room where for part of the day some of the helmets were subjected to direct sunlight, and many of the Reichs cockades are very badly faded. Just a stroke of pure luck that they were not...
Well... I am quite happy to be wrong! To answer your question, I dismounted the eagle and looked on the reverse. You are quite right - this was originally silver. Doesn't quite show up in the cell phone snap the same way it looks in person, but in several areas there is a lot of silver wash...
Eagle is definitely gilt finish; absolutely zero trace on the spike or base - in fact, removing the spike, the silver is even more pronounced where it was protected. Scales appear all original silver as well.
I sincerely appreciate you all taking a look and sharing your thoughts. I tend to...
