    Flyboys, the movie.

As a fan of classic military firearms I have to say that any flick where you shoot down the (sort of) Red Baron with a Revolver d'Ordannance Mle. 1892 can't be all bad! :o Sort of like Tom Hanks blowing up the German tank on the bridge with his 1911A1 in "Saving Private Ryan." You wouldn't...

    Colonial Uberzug?

After looking at that photo some more, I think he's a Seebatallione (Imperial German Marine Corps) not a member of the Schutztruppe.

    Colonial Uberzug?

The article was printed in the U.S. publication THE SHOTGUN NEWS last year. I'm afraid it's not online although I can give you the address if you'd care to see if they have any back issues? I have completed an article on the Boxer Rebellion and have quite a few photos of German (among other)...

    Colonial Uberzug?

I did an article on the Schutztruppen last year and I have found a number of photos of them armed with Gew/Kar 88s.

    Odd very odd

He is armed with an ex-French Fusil d'Infanterie Mle. 1866 which was captured during the Franco-Prussian war and later modified to fire the 11mm scharfe Patrone M.71 Mauser cartridge. Cool picture!

Need photos of soldiers with Gewehre 88

Joe: here is a Gewehre 88. Note the magazine extending under the stock with the clip ejection opening and the thick barrel jacket. http://www.pickelhaubes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=745

Need photos of soldiers with Gewehre 88

Hi all, I'm new here. I am finishing up a book on the Infanteriegewehr 88 and its derivatives and am looking for historical photos of German/Austrian/Chinese/Turkish troops armed with Gewehr 88, Karabiner 88, Hanyang and Tufekli 35 rifles and carbines. If you can help me out, please post them...
