    In 1914 the Infanterie Regiment von Grolman Nr.18 (20th Army Corps) epaulettes would have had a blue background. However, the "Atlas des Deutschen Reichheers " published by Carl Henckel in Dresden in 1901 lists the regiment as being in the 17th Army Corps but with a yellow background.

    Thüringisches Fußartillerie Regiment Nr. 18 raised in 1912 stationed in Niederzwehren (Cassel) 11th Army Corps.

    Here is a photo of what I own and which was sold to me by reputable German dealer as a Garde Kürassier cap and not a Kürassier Nr. 3 one . But we all know there can be many variations in the color blue especially after 100 years.
