Pickelhaube collection at French museum: Fort de la Pompelle

I was too in thé source museum some months ago and noticed that some regimentals marking don't fit with the wappen. For instance a Jr 96 wappen on a helmet with à FAR marking... Most of the mecklenburg helmets have a bavarian spike. So be careful

    8th Foot Artillery Fahnrich, Metz

Very interesting. The 8/8 Batterie has very uncommon guns, 15 cm Kanone in Schirmlafette, a gun with an armored carriage which looks like naval gun. It can move with special truck on rail or on road with a steaming tractor. I will pu some pictures when I have time

    Hi from Kent UK

I do agree with the other members. Be careful, if you buy one single Pickel, it won't stop at this number. Others pickels will necessarily follow !

    Finally complete

Congratulations ! I tried too to find Wappen which fits to an helmet and that's not easy. So when the wappen is scarce, it is more difficult. I like the writing inside, showing that this helmet was took by a US soldier.

    Almost....

The presence of a regimental marking was a advantage. The chinstrap seems good for me. For the kokade, less easy to be sure. The M15 is not much sought after which explains that even nice M15 can be sold at low prices

    New War Bond photo

Hello A very nice picture. I would be interested to know if we can see helmets of JR 115/RBA18 of FAR44. These two types of helmets are too much common currently in USA and the only explication is that they were in the famous helmets taken in Germany for the war bonds.
