Just a heads-up for my fellow Pickle collectors ... I just put up my Wurttemberg OR spike for sale (to head off IRS 'issues ](*,) ). Have a look at it ... you won't be able to upgrade this item.

I have taken a couple of my Pickels with loose neckguards and/or visors to the shoe repair guy in my neighborhood. He does a great job and only charges me between $15 and $20.

Even as a newbie, I can tell neck guard doesn't look right at all, and neither does the spike and spike mount. I wouldn't touch it.

I think there is an area of reality many collectors somewhat miss ... a lot of pickels were modified by their owners as they raised in rank or even possibly changed divisions/units. It is not always the case of the dishonest dealer/collector making these mods.

I have a number of helmets whose finish I would describe as 'blobby'. In spots some shells have a rippled bumpy finishes. On some of the blobbery ones, if I stick my thumb onto the finish for a minute or so it will actually leave an impression of my fingerprint for awhile. Now I am assuming...
