Opinion on a helmet plate with split backings

I totally do agree. I did it and took lots of pictures because I will never do it again, indeed there is a real risk of destruction.

Opinion on a helmet plate with split backings

Hello I have only one officier helmet and it has split brads. I removed the plate to show that - the plate is the original one when you see the print in the leather - the washer have been too in place for a very long time - the soldered joint is clean, no patch-up job So with...

    Uberzuz JR 124

Hello Here is a Uberzug which has known WWI It is not easy but we can see the painted numbers : 124, which have been painted directly by the soldier after the order removing the red numbers (). The soldier traced a line to help him painting the 3 numbers at the same level. The green colour...

    Uberzug RIR 65

Here is a nice Uberzug of the RIR 65, took by a french soldier on a german prisonner in february 1915 And here is a picture of a soldier of the same regiment In the two cases, you can note that the numbers are stitched a little lopsided. In the case of the Uberzug, we can note different...

    R36 Uberzug

Generally, the reserve units used to take Uberzug from nearest activ units Kammer, but here the distance between the garrison cities of GR 6 and RIR 36 is huge. But during WWI, long distance transfert between units without logical relation was possible too, especially in case of lack of material.

    R36 Uberzug

Very intesresting, I know another Uberzug with same markings GR 7 , 7C and the strange rectangular crossed out mark. It has too a label with the name of the grenadier ! I can't find the link between RIR 36 and GR 7, the garrison cities were far each one. Another explanation must exist.

Rare Kinder Uberzug with 121 on front

A very scare piece. Have you an idea of the size ? 49, 50 for instance ? The smallest "real" Pickelhaube I know has a size of 52 and it is yet very small for us, it could look like a Kinder helmet but it is a real one. I am impressed by the quality of what was just a toy. Material could be used...
