Neat story. Reminds me of the RAF Pilots who would apparently undo their top button if they had shot down an enemy aircraft that day during WW2. Not sure if it is true or an "urban legend".

Thanks. Do you think it is supposed to be an Infantry helmet? I kind of like it except for those two strange ridges at the top back beside the spine.

Any ideas what this helmet is supposed to represent? It looks like infantry but with with the silver colour and the two strange ridges or whatever they are at the top back I am not sure? Have not seen it in person but looks like they might have holes in them to put something. The seller...

It's really hard to admit to ourselves that we are not the youngsters we used to be. As an ex Paratrooper every time I watch the jump scene in A Bridge Too Far I wish I could go do another military jump with full kit.
