Yeah could be certainly, but Weitze has been very good in disclosing any issues with me as he knows it goes back if there are any. As I said the photos it looks solid but maybe a lot of threads were disintegrated already and it was hanging on by a wing and a prayer. Anyway it doesn't matter...

This is the wappen from that artillery helmet of Weitze. I purchased the helmet but as said the front visor stitching probably evaporated during shipping. Either way it is getting resewn by Brian (see OP). It’s a beautiful piece.

Laine Book pg 185 also denotes FAR2, 1st Batterie and FAR3 6 Batterie wore this wappen, in the sale documents (in German) it is attributed to FAR2 / 1 but also mentions FAR3 / 6 however the translation is somewhat lacking into English. So merely attributing it to the FAR2 / 1 as per the sale...

I am the lucky owner of this beauty which unfortunately arrived last week with 90% of the stitching vaporized on the front visor, something which I was unaware or it just fell apart with handling by the courier. Thankfully Brian agreed to re-stitch it for me on short notice! Very grateful...
