    Tunic ID help...please.

My first thought is French. It looks like a Napoleonic uniform, althought they didn't use those type of epaulettes.

    Ehrenrangliste des Deutschen Heeres 1914-18

In the front of the book there's a guide to the orders and medals. The cross with a 4 is the Prussian Crown Order 4th Class. The SA3b is the Saxon Albert Order Knights Cross 2nd Class.

    Ehrenrangliste des Deutschen Heeres 1914-18

There is a Hauptmann von Britzke listed in that regiment as a regular officer it doesn't say anything about him being a reserve officer. At the time the list was published he had the Prussian Crown Order 4th Class and the Saxon Albert Order Knights Cross 2nd Class.

    Wilhelm I's birthday

No, I think if Kaiser Wilhelm I had lived long enough he'd have died of a broken heart over things that befell his country.

Joe, I absolutely love that photo of the Feldwebelleutnant! He certainly looks like he could kick a young recruit's a$$ from here to sundown without even breaking a sweat!! :D

True, Gus, zombies are bad, but I was just saying if he was still alive....like miraculously alive, not one of the living dead! :P

    Prussia Garde Regiment uniform?

Roland, there are a couple of other possibilities. Yellow usually appears very dark, sometimes almost black on these old photos. He might be from Kaiser Franz Garde-Grenadier-Regt. Nr.2, which had red shoulder straps with a yellow cypher on it. The red would appear pretty dark and the yellow...

Help with Wappen from wedding photo

He is some type of policeman, who is a military veteran. The wappen on the helmet is a bit hard to make out, but I believe it is the arms of the city of Nürnberg. Since the photo is from that city that reinforces my thinking. Here are the arms of Nürnberg and I think that's what is on the helmet.

    GDC helmet

I don't know enough to give a real opinion on this, so wait until someone who knows a lot more responds. My first thought the helmet looks nice, but the eagle doesn't look quite right to me. He looks like he's standing up too straight to me and the wings aren't out enough, but I'm probably...

Joe, Yes, that's a Prussian sword. Don't know if it's the same guy or not, but there's a Leutnant Lauter in the 1914 Rangliste in Infanterie-Regiment Graf Tauentzien von Wittenburg (3. Brandenburgisches) Nr.20.
