    Bavarian 3rd Infantrie Brigade

I always liked this ole boy! Wonder if this is in the Vosges region? If he was a reservist, (and he could be), he just might have a regimental on the uberzug. He would probably have a Gewehr 88/05 instead of the Gewehr 88 (and fixed S71/84 bayonet). Off the top of my head I do not remember if...

    Bavarian 3rd Infantrie Brigade

Thanks Gents! The background is the best part, too bad color film wasn't universally used in that time!

    Bavarian 3rd Infantrie Brigade

I recently came across a photo of Bavarian Landsturm with 3rd Infantrie Brigade collar dogs. On reverse they are identified as being from the 4th Komp. Landsturm Inf. Batl. Kempten, 84. Landwehr Brigade. 13 Mai 1915. The photograph appears to be in remembrance of being awarded Bavarian Military...

    Who Am I?

Here's one I picked up recently, standing in front of a letter case. Could the armed fellow perhaps be a Bahnpost employee?

    "Kandidaten des eisernen Kreuzes"

I had posted this one years ago pre-crash. Same date, same unit, same location, in Coblenz. 2nd Ko., Ersatz Btn. of Landwehr Infantrie Regt. 65, Coblenz. Cancelled 11 Nov. 14. On both, there are 3 Drill Instructors and 68 shoulderboards too.

    Who Am I?

Tony nailed it, this fellow is 100% Postal, just found a photo with a fellow sorting mail, same exact uniform. Thanks Tony! And thank you too Robert, I had thought this came up before, as Brett brought that to my attention, but was not able to find the thread.

    Who Am I?

Can't remember where I read it, possibly Johan Somers, but there were Letter carriers posted at the front. This fellow is a Postal Service man! Talk about your going postal!

Sadly, as good as it gets.

    Who Am I?

I will try Joe, but I think it is too blurry, and that is why it was not already done. The same for the tunic buttons.

    Who Am I?

Greetings All! Does anybody have any idea who this fellow is? Not dated, but is from a studio in Brussels. He is armed with a Gewehr 88/05 rifle, and S71 bayonet.

    Seitengewehr 98 Long Quillback

Must have skipped the numbers. Peruvian examples generally have the Peruvian Seal stamped on the pommel, no?

    Seitengewehr 98 Long Quillback

I have a steel S98/05 Butcher Blade scabbard that is numbered 33 on the ball finial in the same manner as your example above. My two cents for the above S98 that Ron has posted is a private purchase bayonet, possibly for walking out, but not one of the true walking out models.

    Scharfschützen

That is a wonderful museum. I heard that they were going to close it down and sell off all the cannon, panzers, and the like. I am happy to hear it is still open. Koblenz is a fantastic town too.
