    Belgian Adrian M15.

It's strange that it isn't named. Maybe your medal is one that was placed inside the bookcover of a "vuurkruiser" book. But sometimes you come across alot of strange things. I have a medal like that with 2 names and nobody can tell me why it has 2 names on it. Greetings Pickelhaube

    Belgian Adrian M15.

Great helmet!!! If anybody is in the market of these, make sure the lion doesn't have ears, because the lions with ears are from the 1920's. When i started collecting back in the 1990's, you could find these on markets for 500 Belgian francs (€12.50) or less. Luckely i bought quite a few of...

That helmet is in bad condition.... I've seen pickelhaubes which were found in the ground that were in better condition then this one. Greetings Pickelhaube

    M16 camo "SI 62"

On the fleemarkets you have to know the people, most vendors keep the good stuff in the car for certain buyers. In the past i bought alot of helmets in worse condition just so they would keep offering me stuff and i would be able to buy the better stuff also. Those helmets i just sell to make...

    M16 camo "SI 62"

Yesterday i was walking on a fleemarket when somebody said he had a helmet and some papers in his car which he had found while clearing out an old barn. Not expecting something exciting i went with him, but when he pulled out this helmet, i knew i had to have it. It's not a camouflagepatern i...

    I Believe...

If people wear these during carnaval, i don't wanne think about their matching uniforms they will wear with the helmets. I've seen a carnavalgroup in the past with pickelhaubes, but atleast they were wearing plastic black helmets. I can't even believe that some people would buy these...

    Bambus m15 bavarian IR23

Thank you all for your comments. I've send the pictures of the markings to Col Joe. In my opinion the liner was added when the helmet was "upgraded" from a 1896 to a model 1915. The grommets are brass and i don't see duplicate holes that would suggest that 1 or both visors aren't original to...

    paint/finish on m15 Bavarians wappens

I've changed the title of this topic into "paint/finish on m15 Bavarian wappens". I keep finding it strange that most Bavarian m15's i encounter have lost most of their finish while i don't see that with other m15's. and most do have their finish on the back of the wappens. Greetings Pickelhaube

    Bambus m15 bavarian IR23

I've noticed that there isnt a IR23 marking yet in the list. http://www.pickelhauben.net/articles/Kammer_Marks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If needed, i don't mind to take a better picture of the marking for updating the list. Greetings Pickelhaube

    paint/finish on m15 Bavarians wappens

Is it just me or did somebody else noticed it also that most Bavarian m15 pickelhaubes lose the paint on the hardware (spikes, helmplates)? I might be wrong, but in my opinion i see alot more Bavarian m15's without paint then i see the same thing with Prussian or other m15's. Greetings...

You're right, your room is a mess!! I volunteer to clean up the room and help you get rid of the helmets. In all honesty, that's not a mess but it's how a collectionroom must look like. You really have a superb collection. Greetings Pickelhaube

    Bambus m15 bavarian IR23

Thank you. I really liked that bambus marking and i have no doubt it's original. But i wonder why the liner is dated with 1915 while the rear visor is dated 1910. It almost looks like Bambus upgraded the helmet from a model 1896 to a model 1915. It's strange that the helmet doesn't carry a...

    Bambus m15 bavarian IR23

Here is one of my latests acquisition to my collection. The seller found it during an houseclearing near Vimy ridge. The helmet started life as a model 1896 and was later changed into a model 1915. I know i had to buy it when i saw the Bambus marking on the interior. I've seen Bambus marked...

    Chinaware

Nice chinaware, it's the first time i see plates of the Garde-Civique from Louvain. Here in Belgium, most collectors don't collect Garde-Civique stuff. Which is good for me, because i do collect it since there is alot of variation in the uniforms and headdresses of the Garde-Civique. When i've...
