    Kurhessisches Jaeger-Bataillon Nr. 11

My favorite Jaeger battalion as they were the only Jaeger battalion awarded a cypher. The battalion, raised in 1813, was awarded the cypher of Queen Margherita of Italy, 27 October 1897. She was removed a Chef of the battalion at the beginning of the war and the cypher was discontinued in May...

    Saxon Jaeger/Schutzen

Guys, my Royal Saxon Jaeger straps. Of particular interest is the very scarce cypher strap worn of Crown Prince Albert worn by JB12. The cypher was worn a very short time, May 1870-November 1873. The cypher was removed when Albert was crowned king upon the death of his father. Also, note the...

    Jager m7/15 straps

Guys, a few of my Jaeger straps. The JB1 example is for the Friedensrock. Jaeger straps are found in both gray-green and field gray. Green piped field gray straps were also worn by Mountain Machinegun units with unit number on the strap. Still missing a few of the 31 straps. The hardest to find...

German Intell book on Russian OdB

A very informative book published by German Intelligence in 1916 on the Russian Order of Battle. The book is a treasure trove of unit information down to regimental level. Information inlcudes the regiments higher HQ and their regimental cyphers. Found at the TMCA show in Franklin, TN.

German trophies from the Battle of Tannenburg

Items I have long searched for are Imperial Russian shoulder insignia. They are very hard to find outside of Russia and IMO almost impossible to find in the US. I found this group of straps/boards in the latest HH auction and was very pleased to have won them. What makes this group important is...

    Chip Minx's passing

Sorry to inform all that Chip MInx passed earlier this month after fighting cancer for 3 years. As many will know Chip was most a knowledgeable collector of Imperial German items especially shoulder insignia. His informed answers will be sorely missed. His obituary can be found on-line. RIP!
